Within my own collection and some of the current polish collections, blue metallic nail polish shades are definitely in abundance. There is just something so pretty about blue metallic nails, clearly we are re-igniting the love affair with the blue metallic nail. They were a serious trend on the catwalk, in numerous collections and just looked gorgeous on the models! These Blue Metallic Nail Polish Shades can’t help but blow my mind!
Ever since I was a kid I loved metallic blue, my family car was a shade named Caribbean Blue and it was the loveliest shimmery vivid blue. I remember telling my Dad when we were getting the car that we had to have that one, purely for the colour.
Since then blue has always been my favourite colour and when I really got into polish, blues always featured heavily on my nails. In particular metallic shades! I just love the shine, shimmer and vivid tone of metallics and with so many blue tones available at the moment, we are really spoilt for choice.
Current picks I am loving are designer polishes from Dior and Chanel, which offer utterly gorgeous picks.
From Chanel from their summer collection, Fortissimo (pictured above) is a beautiful mid tone metallic blue, ever so pretty and chic on the nail.
Also from Chanel, Bel Argus (pictured above) would be similar but it is more of a frosted shade.
Blue Satin (pictured above) is as it is described, a much deeper navy toned metallic and is extremely beautiful on the nail.
Similar to this is Nails Inc’s Kaberet, a slightly cheaper dupe to this Chanel polish.
Dior has some gorgeous blue pigmented metallics, including this seasons shade Darling Blue (pictured above) from their Cosmopolite collection.
I really like this one, it looks like a more modern take on metallic nails and looks supreme in your manicure.
I have been lusting after this one for a while as it is quite a unique shade.
Speaking of unique shades, Illamasqua’s shade Phallic (pictured above) is a pigment rich, deep blue toned metallic with a hint of purple running through it.
Just stunning on and really pops in the light! This one is similar to Topshop’s Plume shade without the duochrome effect.
OPI have so many shades of blue metallic, but their new shades from their Venice collection have really took my fancy. St Marks the Spot (pictured above), a deep rich blue metallic.
Venice The Party? (pictured above) Is a light bright blue metallic another beautiful, rich looking shade.
I feel these two with the golden undertone add opulence and sophistication to the hands.
Another recent release, which I am currently trying to get my hands on is Zoya’s Estelle! This is a bright mid tone metallic which looks super pigmented and a glossy metallic. It would look like you had a serious paint job on your nails with this polish. I want this one badly!
Butter London’s Airy Fairy (pictured above) is another beautiful blue metallic, similar to Marc Jacobs Blue Velvet but is ever so slightly lighter in shade. I love their formula of polish and this shade is bold on the nails, it’s green toned tinge running through the metallic so pretty!
Another shade from them is Big Smoke (pictured above), a smoked out navy metallic. I love this one and have had this in my collection for a few years. This polish offers a sophisticated take on a metallic with a shimmery finish. A real beaut!
Two metallic picks I have had in my collection for a good while are both from Topshop’s nail polish range. The shade Blue on Blue (pictured above), is a true deep metallic blue, absolutely gorgeous for the price.
The second shade Missile, probably my favourite metallic blue from them (pictured above) which has some slight shimmer through the polish. This is probably my most worn metallic blue!
I must admit I love Topshop polishes, they definitely have some of my favourite unique metallic shades for the price point.
A brand, only on the market for the last 6 monthsor so, is blogger Suzanne Jackson’s SoSu nail polish range. I keep coming across this range every time I pop into Penneys.
She has a few metallics in her range, the first shade Blue My Mind (pictured above) which is a lovely deep purple toned blue metallic with slight shimmer running through it.
It’s a cheaper range for gel effect polishes, although with mixed reviews, I was hesitant to try the range. Although I will give the metallic shades a go, metallics tend to hold up better than standard formulas generally.
With new shades coming out for A/W 2015 including Midnight Wish – a brighter metallic blue shade with added shimmer (pictured above) this looks beautiful in the bottle, and hopefully just as gorgeous on the nails!
I have just picked this one up, and the A/W15 Polish Collection is currently coming into SoSu stockists now. I will be popping this shade on my nails in my next manicure to test it out.
For classic metallic shades, with excellent formula you cannot beat Essie. Aruba Blue is a gorgeous frosted sapphire blue pictured above. An absolutely divine, definitely pick this one up if you can!
Another recently added shade from their Leggy Legend collection is Bell Botton Blues. A lovely intense midnight indigo shade (pictured above) which is a shimmery metallic delight.
One you can add to your basket without hesitation!
Whichever shade you choose for your blue metallic manicure, it will look fab. I feel of all the current metallic manicure shades, nothing stands out more than a pretty metallic blue shade!
Clearly in this post, with so many metallic shades, you can find the right metallic blue for you!
There are similar shades from both higher end and drugstore options, so splurge or scrimp to your hearts desire!
