One of my favourite professional nail brands, Zoya have just released their Spring collection inspired by the blooms of Spring. The Zoya Petals Spring 2016 Nail Polish Collection, shade wise, looks like something you might pick from your garden and pop into a vase. Lovely!
This is a floral inspired collection is preparing us for changing seasons, I definitely need this change aroumd into the more warm and bright shades! I don’t know why but recently I feel like I have been more inclined to apply more dark, dusky wintry shades, got myself into a right polish funk! This collection is bound to pep me up!
The Zoya Petals Spring 2016 is a 6 piece mix of pastels, brights and shimmer shades, perfect to bring you bang up to date for the new season. I won’t lie, there are definitely dupes from other brands and you may even own similar in your collection. But there are some lovely more original shades in there, a bit of a mixed bag!
Anyway, enough of my introductory ramble, onto the shades!
Tulip – a peach toned sheer crème with slight shimmer
Laurel – a warm pastel pink with slight shimmer and a soft finish
Zahara – a shimmering salmon toned coral
Astor – a periwinkle purple shimmer
Azalea – a classic Spring pink shimmer
Leia – an opalescent white with iridescent shimmer
Zoya’s formula is 5 free and vegan friendly, which is good to know! Non of those nasties here, and an excellent formula as always!
Most of these polishes are opaque with 2 coats of polish, other than Leia which needs 3 for a true to bottle shade. Although Leia I found is an excellent topper over any number of shades, something to add into your collection if you don’t have similar already!
From looking at the collection my favourite shades are Astor, Tulip and Laurel, those were the shades that spoke to me the most.
I also found that these shades are fairly dupeable, Astor for example is in similar territory to OPI’s Show Me Your Tips from their recent New Orleans collection.
The more creme shades with slight shimmer are very dupable. Of all the shades Leia would definately be the one I would pick up of all of them. I already own a dupe of Zoya’s Leia which is No7’s Stay Perfect nail polish in the shade In The Stars, if you are after a cheaper alternative.
The Zoya Petals Spring 2016 collection is available now from all good Zoya stockists, please check Zoya’s website for the nearest stockist where you are.
