TOP 5 ON FRIDAY – Cuticle Oil’s for On the Go

With the wintry weather really kicking off (last time I checked it was sleeting outside) I don’t know about you but I am starting to feel the cold.  Even looking outside just makes me feel cold. Brrrrrr!

And when I decide to leave my apartment, I am bundled up to the hilt with my winter armour. Yet I took my gloves off whilst out and about for a few minutes the other day and I am not joking, the cold air really dried out my hands and cuticles.  I scrambled around my bag and realised I left my On the Go kit in one of my other handbags. What a wally! What a silly time to leave that at home!

This reminded me that I really needed to start taking care of my mitts even more, and inspired me to write this series of posts on my favourite essential hand and nail items.

If there is only one nailcare item in your handbag, a cuticle oil is a must! Especially at this time of year! These products are perfect to pop on as often as you can and keep your nails lovely and hydrated.

So I decided to compile my Top 5 Cuticle Oil’s For On the Go! Here are my favourite nail oil picks.

OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil to Go – £10.50 from OPI

This is my favourite nail oil and what I currently use in my own on the go kit. I love it’s Avocado scent and find it doesn’t leave a residue on my fingers after massaging in! It is also excellent for popping into the smallest of handbags, so perfectly formed and convenient.

The Body Shop Almond Cuticle Oil – £7.50 from The Body Shop

The Body Shop Almond Nail & Cuticle Oil is a superb nail oil to massage into your nails, it’s lovely almond scent is gorgeous and is such a nourishing nail formula. I also love the brush which helps target the oil where you need it. I really like their Almond Hand Range, full of excellent products for your handcare routine.

No7 Cuticle Oil – £8.00 from Boots

This oil is so handy to pick up, as the price is usually right! I often find this on a discount from Boots in a few forms, either 3 for 2 or buy 1 get one half price with other No7 products or with money off with a voucher. I have thrown this in my basket a fair few times and have noticed the difference in my nails after using it, a good quality and reliable oil for the price tag.

L’occitane Shea Nail & Cuticle Nourishing Oil – £12.00 from L’occitane

After having good results with L’occtiane Shea Butter range, I decided to give this oil a whirl after hearing good things online. It is such a hydrating oil which really soothes dry cuticles and nails.  I like to use this one with all the Shea butter products including their hand cream to really boost the moisture levels, layering them up to really give long lasting nourishment.

Sally Hansen Cuticle Rehab – currently £4.95 (normally £6.95) at Boots

This cuticle oil is only a recent discovery of mine, but I love it’s slightly thicker almost creme formula. Massaged into the nails, it doesn’t leave a greasy residue and is easily absorbed into the nails and cuticles. I find this product excellent value for money and all of the cuticle oils I have tried, this one is my favourite budget cuticle oil.

Regardless of your budget, there will be a nail oil for you from my selections above.

However if you are really tightening your belt this month, you could try one of my Natural Nail Oil Alternatives and create your own nail oil.

To do this you could select your oil, or mix a few together if you like. Then decant into an old cleaned out nail polish bottle and pop into your handbag! Now we all have no reason to have dry nails and raggedy cuticles this Winter!
