Almost every autumn winter season, a new range of these almost black nail polish shades come onto the market. I think these New Noir nail polish shades are a must for every budding beauty addict and fashionista. For me, they are just so perfect, a darker neutral – they go with everything, are very forgiving shades and are a perfect mani shade if you are not into nude or pale neutral shades. These colours are very grown up affairs, dark and lush, perfectly matched with this seasons fashion hits. The new noir neutral is here to stay and currently there is a bucket load of these polishes on scene.
Hues of deep green, browns, reds, navy’s, aubergines and light charcoals seem to be everywhere, littered all over the polish brands, higher end all the way to drugstore. There are plenty of options in all price brackets so everyone can nail this look!
From the drugstore, Barry M has the shade aptly named Red/Black and Nightshade, along with Essence’s Red Ahead shade plus Tanya Burr’s polish range shade Midnight Sparkles (above.) These are all so pretty noir picks for next to nothing!
Another lovely deep grey toned black is No7 Gel Look Hi-Shine polish in Neptune.A gorgeously grey toned noir!
Essie also has some serious classic noir toned shades! Including Luxedo, Midnight Cami, After School Boy Blazer, Licorice, Skirting the Issue, Little Brown Dress and Wicked to name a large bunch of these deep vampy shades, all worth adding to your noir based collection.
Other lovely almost black to glance at shades are La Moss from Butter London along with the shade Dark Side of the Moon from Deborah Lippmann. These are two beautiful shades with an excellent formulas.
Victoria from Nails Inc is probably my most used noir toned red along with Clinique’s Black Honey. Both of these are absolute beauts! Super dark and glossy too.
OPI have some lovely black toned polishes, Love is Hot & Charcoal and Skating on thin Ice-land would be two deep and dark picks. For classic nearly noir polishes from OPI, shades like Lincoln Park After Dark and Russian Navy are timeless darker neutrals to add to your stash!
If you are looking for a really glossy formula then try CND Vinylux range in the shades Plum Paisley and Indigo Frock, both deep blackened dark shades! Plum Paisley (pictured above) is my favourite deep blackened purple, this one is absolutely gorgeous on the nail!
While browsing through my local Brown Thomas I spotted the 3 new shades from Chanel from their Autumn Collection. My two notable picks would be Vert Obscur and Chataigne, both beautiful shades along with the classic Rouge Noir, perfect nearly noir picks!
The image above makes the polish shades look alot lighter in colour, but in person they are beautifully dark and the true epitome of the almost black nail polish shades. These polishes are also super glossy on the nail! I adore these polish beauties!
For my last picks, a very ritzy affair, is the Louboutin Noirs nail polish selection! 10 shades in total, in a range of darkened black hues. My favourites being Zermedame, Lady Twist, Farida and Sevillana, all devilishly dark shades which are on my wishlist.
I wish I could justify the price, but for now they will stay on the lust list unfortunately. In the mean time, until I either win the lottery or find a much cheaper dupe to imitate the look, I will have to dream of the Louboutin Noir!
The New Noir/ Almost Black nail polish look is offically here to stay. What are your favourite nearly noir polish shades? Any almost black shades to throw into the mix or I need to try?
