Today in my manicure I am wearing Nails Inc’s Gel Effect polish in Baker Street with W.I.P. Nail Polish in Angel Dust over the top.
Nails Inc’s Baker Street is probably my favourite cobalt toned blue! I haven’t worn this shade is ages, I had missed it’s vivid colour, it’s just so eye catching!
I initially picked up the shade after having a manicure at a Nails Inc counter, loving the shade on my nails! It’s just such a standout shade and at the time there wasn’t any handy dupes to pick up to get the look. I was also keen to pick it up in the Gel Effect formula as it wears so well and leaves such a professional finish, even with just me applying it at home.
I had popped this shade to one side to remind myself to wear this more often, this shade always get’s comments or questions when I wear it!
This shade is still available to pick up (link above if you want to check it out!) If you are looking for cheaper dupes, Barry M’s Gelly Hi-Shine nail paint in Damson is very close in shade along with Revlon’s ColorStay Nail Enamel in Wildcard, this shade being the closest I have found in formula and wear time. All perfect cobalt shades!
I do prefer the Nails Inc formula of all the cobalt blue shades I own, it’s the most long wearing, glossy and plumped up with it’s gel effect formula. However the other polish dupes are extremely good for their price points, for a similar look and finish.
Over the top of Nails Inc’s Baker Street I have WIP by Urban Outfitters Nail Polish in Angel Dust, a gorgeous iridescent micro glitter topper!
I just happened to apply this shade over the top of my Baker Street manicure shade on a complete whim. I just had it handy whilst messing around with some pink shades prior to my manicure and swatched it over my pinky nail and loved the look of it. I then thought why not apply it as a topper over the rest of my nails!
I picked up this shade about a year ago whilst browsing the nail polish stand in Urban Outfitters, picking up this one along with another shade on a deal. I didn’t have a shade like this in my collection, so I was eager to get my mitts on this polish to add to the stash!
I feel you really can’t go wrong with different glitter toppers like this, with varying finishes you can apply alone or over any shades you like to give a completely different look.
I have worn this over tonnes of shades from my stash including whites and creams, pinks, nudes, pastels, you name it – every kind of shade! But this polish topper makes darker shades especially purples, blacks, deep maroons and blues really pop. Especially this blue! I took the pictures in the bright sunlight and wow, the shimmer and glitter dazzled me!
Unfortunately this shade isn’t currently available from Urban Outfitters website (sold out I’m afraid) but if you do have a store nearby definately go in check as they might have it in stock. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it instore in more recent times.
Finding dupes for this shade is tricky, the shimmer with it’s crystal iridescent flakes which shift in the light is hard to track down. The only similar polishes I have seen like this are more of a holographic glitter nature, but if I do find anything in serious dupe territory I will update this post.
I will definately wear this combo again! I just love the purpley pink shift it adds to the blue of Nails Inc’s Baker Street!
I think these shades would also look excellent together on toes, a perfect pedicure shade when sandals weather comes around! Might have to do that in my own pedicure for my upcoming hols just around the corner!
What do you think of my NOTD? Do you know of any similar shades which dupe what I have used in my manicure? What are you currently wearing on your nails?
Let me know what you think down in the Comments below.
