Ocean Blue Nails

Ever since I wrote my Capsule Nail Wardrobe for Spring, I have been craving Ocean Blue Nails! I had seen so many beautiful sea blue shades cropping up in the various designer catwalks for S/S16 collections which are now trickling down into the Summer nail collections. The perfect for an injection of colour in your manicure!

I love this shade of aqua blue, almost blue tourmaline shade! It’s so pretty and works well for most skintones for a bright pop of colour! Pantone’s Limpet Shell, even Snorkel Blue (and everything inbetween) is just so refreshing for the season. I love all these shades of blue, including these more pale, cooler tones from the sea blue spectrum.

I recently picked up a bright ocean blue to try, SOSU by Suzanne Jackson’s Nail Polish in Ocean Breeze fancying a cool looking ocean blue in my manicure.

This bold warmer toned blue from her SS16 polish collection, I picked up on my travels and it’s such a glorious shade for my manicure. In the picture below it really brightens up my hands and pops!

After appreciating the shade in manicures, I went in search for new shades to add into my collection!

With the upcoming wave of Summer nail collections I had noticed so many of these brilliant sea blue shades to choose from, which you should definitely catch while you can!

Some of my favourite Ocean Blue Nails shades are from new launches and collections (some that aren’t available yet) but with my eye firmly on them, I thought I would include them in case you wanted to check them out when they do become available!

I can definately see myself wearing all of these polishes as this Ocean Blue Nails shade is now a staple in my Summer capsule nail wardrobe. Even with all the various shades and finishes, each individual shade offers it’s unique take on Ocean Blue.

It’s summery tone I can rely upon to brighten my days (and manicures) even if the weather is letting me down! I will just have to daydream myself off to a beach somewhere, to tide me over.
