As New Years Eve is here, I am excited for a good party to bring in the New Year! Although it can be an overrated night, I feel this years may be better than previous years. With a party, one needs a new frock to dance the night away in, a chic hair do and of course most importantly a glamorous manicure to match.

In fact, my mani always now nearly always takes precedent over everything else in my process of getting ready. I like to take the time and get it perfect. I find because my friends know I blog about my nails, I am always asked what I am wearing on my nails. So when it is special occasions or party time, they expect my nails to be amazing. No pressure then!

Now with most manicures for big night out or special event, my outfit generally dictates my manicure theme and my choice for New Year’s Eve is no exception. I usually find if I do it the other way around I struggle to decide on an outfit. I also suffer from wardrobe full of clothes and nothing to wear syndrome, which also doesn’t help!

In the end I decided to go for WIP polish in Ziggy with Topshop’s nail polish in Sleepwalker over the top, see the image below.

I achieved this look by applying a foil/metallic shade to the nail. I then applied my chosen lighter glitter on top, just on one side of the nail and faded them into one another dabbing gently with a sponge blending the two shades together.

I really like this combination of colours together and I am really happy with my simple but effective nail art in my manicure.

I used my OPI Glitter Off Peel-able Base Coat underneath just for convenience. If you are interested in peel off base coats please see my post here if you are interested.
To finish off the look I added a coat of Nails Inc Kensington Caviar Top Coat to finish the look.

So guys, there was my New Years Eve mani, a simple design to set off your look. Give it a try this New Year Eve or sometime in 2016.
