Now I am not the biggest Made In Chelsea fan, but I have heard of Rosie Fortescue from the show. When I heard last year she had developed her own range of nail polish with Nailed London, like many I thought that she had put her name to range as many celebrities/personalities do. Not to mention Binky Felstead, her co-star from the show, also came out with a polish range. I had brushed these reality star’s polish ranges to the side. However after recently browsing her Nailed London by Rosie Fortescue Gel Look Nail Polishes in Harvey Nichols in the flesh did my polish tastebuds prick up and notice.
I had a good look at all the polishes and I liked what I saw. The shades were good, the polish within was thick and glossy and the collection of colours was just right for a capsule collection of fashion forward shades for your manicures.
I know Rosie’s background is in fashion, and you really can tell with her choice in polish colours and formulas. I did a bit of research I found that she was very much involved in the creating the range of polishes too. With her admitting in interviews she likes to do her own nails twice a week, she wanted something that would last and developed a product which matched the look, feel, wear and gloss of a professional gel polish.
This 3 step gel system has been developed using innovative technology – a self curing Exclusive Dual Polymer Technology. This supposedly delivers long-lasting, high shine finish and contains Volcanic Glass which provides strength during application along with a plant-derived, patented Plasticiser giving flexibility to the polish. These are ingredients used in gel effect polishes, they also make the polishes much more durable and wearable and made me consider reviewing the polishes.
In terms of shades there are 28 shades, 4 glitter effect polishes along with the staples of Base and Top Coat. So the polishes works the same way as a standard gel effect polish, a 3 step system offering better wear by 2-3 days and delivers a high level of gloss on the nail and retains that gloss.
My fave shades from the range are Noodle Nude – a barely there nude shade, Berry Sexy – a warm berry, Knight Rider – a metallic grey silver, Red Carpet – a bold bright red, Fashionista – a navy cream and Liquid Lunch – a bright baby blue. All gorgeous glossy shades that look right up my street!
The price of Nailed London by Rosie Fortescue Gel Look Nail Polishes is also great, retailing at between £6.99 for the base/top coat and standard polishes and £7.99 for the glitter effects, which isn’t too bad for gel effect polishes!
