We are into party season, the only time of year it is socially acceptable to apply a heavy dose of sparkle into our makeup, especially nails. Glitters are the new norm in my party manicures and within my own nail polish collection, they feature heavily. I literally wait all year to get them out!! Clearly the inner magpie in me is dying to sport these Festive Nails – Silver Sparkle Manicure Shades!
Silvery metallic and glitter shades are a must, like gold shades, they work with so many colour combinations in the colder months. For myself, a go-to choice when I cannot decide on a shade, especially at this time of year.
Silver toned polishes and glitters are some of my all time favourites, the polishes I pick up to dress up and revive my manicures and give that extra boost to my look. I found on the whole they were inexpensive and received the most compliments and positive remarks, what’s not to like!
Subtle silver sparkle doesn’t cost the earth, head down to Boots and check out No7’s range of polishes. This range has various dazzling affordable options to add that extra something to your mani.
Shades like In The Stars – a pretty frosted shimmer topper, pictured below. This polish is lovely on top of cooler toned polishes, adding brightening snow like shimmer to any polish it is applied to. Perfect for a nail polish cocktail!
For those of us who maybe prefer a more subtle silver, Moonshimmer add’s a lovely lilac/grey silver to our collection. This polish is a metallic with added silver micro glitter, see picture below, which gives just that touch of sparkle. This is ideal for those who fear glitter the most, a perfect gateway polish.
For a true silver micro glitter, Disco Ball is a great pick, pictured below, perfect for party season or a disco of any kind.
Sun Rays, the gold version of this polish also from No7, together with the Disco Ball shade are a perfect pairing to add to your festive nail wardrobe! Polishes to add to your collection and get them out when its party time!
If you are on a budget and looking for silver sparkle on a shoe string, try Barry M’s glittery delights. For less than a fiver you can satisfy your inner magpie and their formulas are not completely awful!
Nails Inc have my heart with their silvery nail polish options. I have amassed so many with various collections and sets in my stash the last few years.
Their Galaxy collection offers so many pretty options when it comes to glitter of which the shade Trafalgar Crescent, my most worn shade. A lovely buildable glitter with a frosty iridescent base and silver glitters, pictured below this shade is clearly intergalactic.
A classic Nails Inc glitter, Hatton Gardens is a must if you like your nails shining like a multi facetted diamond. It’s so sparkly and pretty (see pictured below) this is gorgeous either on its own or over top of any shade. For those Nails Inc aficionados like myself, this polish over Baker St – there are no words!
Some of my more recent glitters from Nails Inc are a much more finer affair. Shades like Hereford Square – a iridescent glitter in a shimmer base is like a mermaid tail on your nail, the image below only shows a hint of glint this polish gives. So very pretty with the flecks of glitter, it adds an extra dimension to your manicure.
Another shade, Palace St is a mix of both silver and some fine holographic micro glitters. I love this polish, its a finer, more refined polish and is great for a ring finger manicure.
For those who prefer a more subtle glitter, their latest Snowglobe glitter polishes, in both the gold and silver shades, are ideal for those who want to dial up or dial down the sparkle in their manicures. Perfect for those dipping their toes into the glitter polish pool.
If you are looking to add to your own collection, OPI’s Starlight Collection has some wonderful silver based glitter concoctions. Also with discounts currently online, you cannot go wrong and invest in a bottle.
Alternatively Essie has some beautiful glitter toppers, Set in Stones is an excellent place to start to sparkle at this time of year! You cannot go wrong with adding a glitter top coat to finish off any manicure or pedicure! Alternatively there is the other polishes from their recent Lux Effects range to dabble in!
With so many silvers on the market, a post like this is sure to make you wonder which one to get. Decisions, decisions!
I have so many glitter based polishes, half my collection is at home in England, which is crazy! If I am seeming to feature certain brands more than others in these glitter posts, that is the reason why. Slowly but surely my polish collection is arriving, in stages.
