Dior Glowing Gardens Spring 2016 Collection – Nail Polishes

I’m back on the Spring polish collections bandwagon with another polish hit, the Dior Glowing Gardens Spring 2016 Collection nail polishes.

As soon as I saw previews for this entire makeup collection, I knew immediately this collection would be popular, the makeup is seriously swoon worthy!!

I have been eyeing up the polishes from this collection in store, since they were released in January and have been desperate to write this post since. The glorious polish hues are a delight, extremely pretty and they will definitely brighten up those hands!!!

The collection comprises of 4 polish shades, Bluette, Lilac, Pivoine and Garden, a mix a warm toned pastel hues.

Bluette 301 is a cool minty blue crème. This shade I love and own similar shades in my collection.

For you guys who want similar shades on the cheap try Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Barracuda or Essie’s Mint Candy Apple – a tad bluer in tone but a good dupe nonetheless.

Lilac 491 is a cool creamy pink, ignore the name completely! It’s a really a pretty pink and totally wearable. Even for myself, not a big lover of pink shades generally, I would totally wear this!

A similar shade to this from recent Spring collections is OPI’s Look At My Bow from their Hello Kitty Collection. Another similar shade is Essie’s Flawless, for a cheaper dupe.

Pivoine 650 is a deep pink toned red, with slight shimmer in a jelly crème formula. Very pretty and gorgeous! This looks right up my street!

There are plenty of shades within the shade range from other brands, just without the shimmer. The most similar I’ve seen is Orly’s Window Shopping from their Melrose Spring 2016, a good dupe which has the most closest shade (although that Pivoine slight shimmer is so hard to match.)

The final shade Garden 302 is a lovely chartreuse yellow toned green crème, which screams spring! Although this isn’t a shade I would necessarily be drawn to, on paler and dark skin tones this shade I imagine would really pop! It looks a bit of a scary shade in the bottle, but swatched on the hand looks really nice!

This shade isn’t that common but I have a few dupes from various brands. Try Deborah Lippmann’s Spring Buds along with Essie’s Chillato from last year. Both very similar shades to Dior’s Garden colour.

Although these are fairly dupable shades, the Dior crème jelly formula is excellent, the brush makes application pleasant enough and the formula dries reasonably quickly. I find with Dior polishes I get a good 4-5 days wear before signs of tip wear or slight chipping, using my standard base and top coat combo.

I think my favourites from this collection are Bluette, Lilac and Pivone shades! I do like the Garden shade but I think I wouldn’t wear it too often.

I have very similar shades in my own collection, the majority of these shades are not that unique, you may be in a similar situation. I have picked up the Pivoine and Lilac shades as they are fairly unique, but left the others. Also you can dupe the collection to get the look and save the pennies.
