December Favourites

The time has come to delve into those favourite polishes and nail products that have graced my nails in the last month and gained my attention. This month in particular is no different, other than flying by at an extremely quick rate. Especially the latter half, with Christmas and now the impending New Year festivities, I cannot believe in a few days we will be into 2016, time is seriously flying!

My December manicures generally have lasted longer due to my glitter polishes I have used, which is always a bonus. The bulk of manicures colours earlier in the month, were a range of dark and light neutrals with a hint of sparkle. I guess now we are into the beginnings of Winter, these shades are perfect matches for all the cosy knits and layers I have been wearing.

Two of these deep and dark lovelies are from Nails Inc in the shades Holland Walk and Grosvenor Crescent (below in that order). Both of these plumy wine shades have been great with either a gold or silver based glitter toppers, which extended the life of my manicure.

See my posts on Silver and Gold glitters for just a selection of the options I had. These posts are my love letters to my fave glitters so I will skip mentioning them in this post.

My Christmas Manicure (above) featured Victoria and Albert – my favourite Nails Inc red, No7 Special Effects glitter in Sun rays and Nails Inc’s Special Effect polish in Leicester Court. See my post here for more info. These polishes are excellent together but separately can be worn with any number of polishes.

The manicure I am currently wearing is another light creamy beige neutral in Colville Mews from Nails Inc with added sparkle on top from Ciate’s Tangled Tinsel (below in that order), a gold and blue glitter topper. A lovely combo for subtle sparkle!

Another product which I only discovered in the last month was OPI’s Glitter Off Base Coat which has made all these glitter based manicures a doddle to remove. In my post here, I put various peel off base coats to the test and found this formula was the best. This product definitely has found its place in my polish stash and is something I am glad to have invested in, a product I found just in time for the festive period.

In the month of December my only pedicure came in the shades Barry M’s Chilli, a smokey chilli red shade which added festive sparkle with Nails Inc Belgrave Square (below in that order). The two together a warm toned golden glimmer. Beau-ti-ful!
