China Glaze Lite Brites Summer 2016 Collection

As we approach the end of April, I thought why not have a spot of Summer polish collections? It’s not too early right?

I was toying with the thought of brighter colours on my nails, which led me to China Glazes’s Lite Brites Summer 2016 Nail Polish Collection!

We have had a bit more of the brighter weather in recent times, thank goodness! It’s about time, I was wondering when our Summer is actually going to start, please God hopefully soon! Here in Ireland the sun is just out (although it is a bit nippy!)

I have been dying to write about these since February, but here in Ireland it really was the depths of Winter and just way too soon for a Summer collection like this! This collection has been out since the beginning of March but these brighter shades have only really struck a polish cord with me recently. Up until then it was just way too cold and miserable for sunny shades like this in my manicures. But I think now’s the time for a colour injection!

I had thought to myself if I got myself a dose of winter sun somewhere I may have reviewed them before now but it never happened! Oh well, nevermind! But I am soon jetting off for a sunshine break in a month’s time so these shades would be perfect for my early Summer getaway!

Onto the shades!

My Thoughts on the Collection

I like the majority of the colours in the collection, they are just so vibrant and scream summer! Although I do like the shades, I think some of them are maybe a little too bright for me for the moment. Especially those nearly neons, I most certainly would wear those with a tan! I do like neon shades but if I’m honest I don’t tend to wear them too often as I am so pale and pasty! You may want to see these against your own skintone to see which shades work best!

As for favourites, Let’s Jam, Bite Me and What I Like About Blue are the shades I love from this collection! I can happily see myself wearing these all the year round. Just stunning! Out of all the shades in the collection, I would definately pick up these!

The only shade I wasn’t keen on from the collection was None of Your Risky Business, just too much of a yellow toned orange neon and I just felt there are better neon oranges out there if you wanted to pick one up. The orange toned neons from Orly’s Pacific Highway collection looked much nicer!

The polish formula is reasonable, with most of the polishes fully opaque within 2 coats including most of the neons which is good. The only shades which needed an extra layer of polish were Whip It Good and Papa Don’t Peach. However you could get away with less coats depending on how thick your own polish coats are.

The polishes apply smoothly without the need for too much manipulation and dry reasonably quickly. Got to love China Glaze for that!

Overall I was quite pleased by the collection, a polish kick start for Summer! I definately needed it!
