The China Glaze House of Colour Spring 2016 Nail Polish Collection is inspired by the 70’s style which we have been seeing the last few fashion seasons, and is reflected in the polish colours. A mix of creams, shimmers, chromes and glitters. I have been catching glimpses and previews of this upcoming polish collection for the last few months, waiting eagerly to see up close and personal and try it out! It looks sublime and just in time for Spring!
The look of this polish collection is perfect for Spring/Summer and I thought I would share the polish highlights that caught my eye.
I viewed a few video’s online reviewing the colours, see Phoebe Moon’s video of live swatches, an excellent way of what the shades would look like in person.
Now onto the colours!
Sorry I’m Latte – a warm toned coffee nude
Girl’s Just Wanna Have Sun – a pale lemon cream
Let’s Chalk About It – a pale lilac nude cream
About Layin’ Out – a light salmon pink cream
Pink or Swim – a light pink cream
In the Near Fuchsia – a bright fuchsia pink cream
Don’t Be Shallow – a cool baby blue cream
Shut The Front Door – a plum toned purple with shimmer
Come Rain or Shine – a mid toned marine blue cream with pink shimmer shot through it.
Chrome Is Where The Heart Is – a light mauve metallic
Glitter Me This – a gold and baby pink based glitter
Moonlight The Night – a gold, green, amber, silver and blue glitter (like a mermaids tail)
My Favourite Polishes from the Collection
I have to say looking at all the lovely shades in the collection my favourites are mostly cream formulas with Come Rain or Shine, Don’t Be Shallow, Girls Just Wanna Have Sun and About Layin Out. These were the shades that stood out to me the most, so summery and bright. I will definately pick these up with the dull days we have been having of late.
My favourite glitter of the collection was Moonlight The Night, with a really interesting mix of glitter in the formula. This layered over pretty much of all the shades in the collection will look really nice plus it’s a unique glitter to pick up and add to your collection.
I must really like this collection, the fact I liked 5 of the polishes from the collection is quite an accomplishment! I will be picking up these to add to my collection!
The China Glaze House of Colour Spring Collection is currently available online from Nail Polish Direct, priced at £4.95 each if you want to shop the collection.
