As we come into a new season of colour and nail polish change, it is right to encapsulate and consolidate all our most used shades for this fashion season and pop them into a metaphorical capsule nail wardrobe – Autumn 2015 edition.
An edit of polish colour is ideal for this time of year, we are into Autumn and even with the recent glorious weather, a strange occurrence for October, it is time to get our shades in order.
For me, I find it helps so when I am in doubt what to apply, I can pop on a shade with confidence and know it is going to be perfect on my nails. There are certain shades I am finding are just perfect with everything I am wearing, fashion wise, even with basics or dressed in black, they just look stunning on!
These are shades I have been playing with in the month of September, and know are perfect for whatever occasion and fashion trend you are getting behind this season.
THE SHADES OF THE SEASON
Khaki Green, a fashion forward choice, it is a staple shade in this seasons nail wardrobe. The shade was everywhere in various fashion weeks and is the shade I have seen splashed around the most in polish collections.
My favourite Khaki green shades are:
Deep Wine/ Black Cherry shades are perfect for Autumn Winter and an absolute staple year in year out. Whether you choose a wine shade or a more rouge toned noir, these colours are heavy hitters and are timeless shades to add to your collection. With Marsala, the current Pantone Colour of the Year, you are guaranteed to find the right wine colour for you.
My favourite Deep Wine/ Black Cherry Shades are:
For more Vino picks see my post here, for more variety of wine options.
Dusky pastel pinks were scattered amongst the catwalk collections and have continued through to colour selections for Spring/Summer next year. A truly girlie shade, its prettiness suits most skin tones and ties in with most fashion choices we will be wearing.
My favourite dusky pastel pink shades are:
Both these shades are extremely similar so scrimp or splurge to your hearts desire!
Nude nails have been everywhere the last few seasons and are not going anywhere! They continue to be the mainstay on pretty much all the models in catwalk collections and the nude nail polish trend is ongoing!
My favourite nude polish shades are:
Silver/ Gold/ Platinum/ Rose/ Gun Metal toned Metallics are that perfect something something to add to your manicure and these shades have featured highly in the many polish collections for Autumn and Winter. In fact the metallic shades have been some of my favourites in recent times.
My favourite selection of Metallic shade are:

Navy blues are perfect additions to your nail wardrobe. They look supreme plumped up with glossy topcoat giving the nail a patent effect, or topped with matte topcoat for a more textured appearance.
A Navy shade gives a certain richness to the nails and is more forgiving than a black shade. Perfect for shorter nails! They are also a lovely dark toned neutral which works well with most colours and skintones.
My favourite navy shades are:
Bold reds are classic and timeless, they are an essential in my opinion in any nail wardrobe and brighten and lift hands. They are the shock colour of the season, nodding back the 60’s and 70’s trend, they are a colourful point of reference.
This shade always features highly in polish collections, to varying degrees, but bold reds work well with current fashion collections and are transitional shades which can be worn through to winter.
My favourite bold red shades:
