Whilst looking at the latest nail polish collections and fashions from the catwalks, it has been evident that we have a new wave of A/W 2015 Nail Polish Trends!
Duochromes, Earthy Tones, Pale neutrals, Metallics, Blues, Surprise Brights along with deep Almost Black polishes are definitely the pick of the bunch this season.
A/W 2015 Nail Polish Trends
Duochromes have been popular the last few years but are coming into their own this year, Louboutin brought out his Scarabee limited edition range of 3 duochrome nail colours.
These shades were inspired by the iridescent beauty of the sacred Egyptian scarab beetle which in turn make these polishes delightful to the eye!
For a similar look on a budget, try Barry M’s Aquarium range which has 4 beautiful duochrome shades.
Earthy tones were seen on all the catwalk collections and pretty much all the brands are dabbling in smokey and spicey shades. Burberry has a lovely range of polish shades which have the edge if you want a more smokey toned nail look.
Topshop and Ciate also offers similar shades at a snip if you are looking for a cheaper alternative to achieve the look.
Pale neutrals were seen on nails at several of the collections at NYFW. Essie was used at several of the shows along with OPI so check out their ranges for barely there shades. From OPI, Samoan Sand and St Tropez from Essie would be two classic nude toned neutrals, perfect for this look. I have post dedicated to this look, coming up within the next week about the mannequin hands manicure. Stay tuned for that folks!
Metallics are a thing of beauty, I will keep my spiel short on them, please check out my Nail Polish Fashion Forecast Post on Metallics for the latest pickings. I must say Essie are really bringing it with shades like Leggy Legend and Bell Bottom Blues, serious love for those shades! Zoya and OPI also have some lovely metallic shades too, check them out!
Blues are some of my favourite shades, in practically all finishes. I love them. See my post about my favourite blue shades here just in case you didn’t realise how much love I felt for them.
But seriously blues of all hues are a big deal, cobalts, light blues, metallics and navys and everything in between. Some of my favourite newer shades are from OPI, Gelato on my Mind, Venice the Party and St Marks the Spot.
Surprise bright shades are everywhere, the whole colour blocking trend has moved through the seasons, the bold 70’s shades like red, yellow and classic blues are everywhere. Nails Inc shades Seven Dials, Victoria and Albert and Mercer St are perfect options if you want the look.
To acheive this look on a budget try Rimmel’s 60 second Super Shine range by Rita Ora, full of super bright and funky shades, perfect for this season hottest look.
Dark vampish coloured nails also featured heavily on the catwalks, the term almost black or nearly noir springs to mind. These tend to show up in almost every autumn winter season, but this season’s look uber luxe and chic and bang on trend. Also between all the major nail polish brands (both high end and budget options), there is so much choice of different toned almost black shades at all price points. No excuse not to pick up a nearly noir shade and nail the look!
Essie’s After School Boy Blazer and Luxedo would be two lovely options. OPI’s Lincoln Park After Dark, O Suzie Mio and My Gondola or Yours would be a nice selection of deep purple toned vampy shades.
I have a blog post also coming up about these almost black shades, so also stay tuned for that!
Well there you have it guys, a brief summary of all the A/W 2015 Nail Polish Trends, for the upcoming season. I think I will be dabbling in most of these before we make it to Spring.
